UH-60A/L Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP)
Description
Position Summary:
The UH-60 A/L Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) utilizes flight test techniques to perform aircraft test flights, evaluate performance and handling, and determine airworthiness following maintenance or modifications.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs flight readiness inspections and completes required maintenance forms and aircraft logbooks.
- Conducts flight tests to verify aircraft systems and equipment meet established requirements.
- Performs aircraft operational checks following maintenance to verify proper system function.
- Completes test flight checklists in accordance with applicable UH-60 maintenance manuals.
- Performs limited test flights when necessary to verify the proper functioning of specific items or components.
- Performs a visual inspection after each test flight to identify and correct any deficiencies before further flight.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant aviation experience, with a preference for UH-60 maintenance/test flight experience.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of Pilot in Command (PC/PIC) time, including at least 300 hours in a similar aircraft type.
- FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate category, class, and type ratings.
- Graduate of the Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course OR completion of an equivalency evaluation conducted by the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically able to perform duties and responsibilities of the classification.
- Must be able to work with required materials without debilitating irritation to skin, eyes or respiratory system while wearing the required personal protective equipment.
